I've been feeling lucky for months and suppose it's no small coincidence that I've never been more prepared for anything in my life than this departure. Through and above the clouds, propelled to new freedom in a 777 tin car with raw organic chocolate covered mulberries and mile high aisle yoga. We were three hours in when the fidgeting really began, immeasurably better than expected, and the flight was less than quarter full which afforded me the luxury of stretching across an entire row. No where to go, nothing to do and - best of all - no internet or functioning phones: so on grid it's practically off grid, while we skirted around what looked from our great height like paradise.
Arriving in a straggling thunderstorm, I imagine I was more appreciative of the familiar tarmac sparkle from recent rain than if I were staying for just a few weeks and can't help smiling ever-wider with the growing gift or perspective that only distance seems to give.
Now to see what opportunity meets me.
